Under Armour receives innovation award

Sports brand Under Armour has been announced as the winner of the innovation award at US-based sportswear awards CLIO, a ceremony set up to recognise the growing impact of sports on marketing and advertising.

“Under Armour is a brand with a storied history – from basement beginnings to a global takeover – that deserves recognition,” says CLIO vice-president Nicole Purcell. “From the start, Kevin Plank and his company have proven to be innovators not only in the products they offer and design, but the marketing campaigns that motivate people.”

CLIO will also acknowledge Under Armour’s philanthropic and community efforts.

The award will be presented during a July 17 ceremony at Cipriani Midtown in New York.
