Brazil’s swimwear sector going strong

Brazil-based swim and sportswear show Fevest closed its doors on the 24th edition after welcoming more than 10,500 through the doors in Nova Friburgo.

Organisers announced that a better-than-expected R$48 million ($28 million) of business was conducted in the sector last year.

Around 90 brands showed trends for the S/S 2014/2015 season and the ‘Highlight of Fashion’ award, which recognises companies with good social responsibility strategies, went to Suspiro Intimo, which won an international research trip with the team of Senai Fashion Design. Trave and Lia Lou were second and third.

“The main purpose of the trade is to strengthen the relationship among clothing manufacturers, suppliers and buyers. Entrepreneurs make contacts, get to know the news and then get on with business,” said Marcelo Porto, chairman of industry association Sindvest.
