Commendation for Schoeller’s ceramic textile

09/09/2014
Swiss cycling brand Scott has won an award for an outfit made in collaboration with Schoeller that uses ceramic to boost abrasion resistance.

The ITD ProTec technology is an elastic knit fabric by Schoeller-owned Eschler that uses fine ceramic particles with hexagon-shaped design that make the textile resistant to abrasion.

The knitted carbon yarn, inspired by sailing rope, also demonstrates anti-static properties and ensures durability in the event of high-speed falls.

Scott is one of the first cycling clothing lines to use the technology and the RC ProTec collection will available in stores next year.

The technology and the knit impressed judges at the recent Eurobike trade fair in Friedrichshafen.
