Compression clothing brand 2XU is to incorporate odour control technology from Polygiene into its 2017 collections. The Australian brand said on making the announcement that this development will allow ahtletes to use its T-shirts, shorts, socks, tights and sleeves for longer between washes, making the compression effects and the garments themselves last longer.

Its proprietary compression fabrics, which it calls PWX, can help athletes increase blood flow, increase endurance, reduce muscle vibration, have faster muscle recovery and reduced risk of injury, 2XU says. For example, players from all 30 teams in the National Basketball Association buy and use the company’s garments because they believe in the benefits; 2XU pays no endorsement fees for this.

On making this new announcement, Shaun Patterson, the Australian brand’s chief marketing officer, said he believes adding Polygiene’s odour control technology will give 2XU even more help to “stand apart from the competition”.

For his part, Polygiene’s chief executive, Christian von Uthmann, described his new partner as “the world leader in fitness and workout compression apparel” and said both companies share the mission of creating “high-tech fabrics and applications that enable the user to increase performance”.
