A&E puts Repreve into new product

Specialist sewing thread manufacturer American & Efird (A&E) has launched a new product containing Repreve recycled fibres from Unifii. At the time of the launch, A&E said the new product, which it has called Perma Core Using Repreve, is a “a highly sought-after, eco-friendly, performance sewing thread option for environmentally conscious customers”.

The new thread combines Repreve, which Unifi makes from recycled plastic bottles, with A&E’s polyester staple wrap. Chris Alt, the thread manufacturer’s vice-president for global sales, has said the product sacrifices nothing in terms of quality or sewing performance.
