Dope dyeing the secret to fade-resistant black denim
26/10/2017
Cone Denim has said jeans made from this denim can contain as many as 17 recycled plastic bottles due to the use of Repreve fibres.
Future Black+ denim achieves its long-lasting colour through the use of dope dyeing. This method sees the pigment introduced during the production process, allowing for the entire body of the fibre to be coloured rather than just the surface. According to Cone Denim, it shows no sign of colour loss even after more than 20 washes.
Future Black+ will join Cone Denim’s TruTone fabric family. It was unveiled at Kingpins Amsterdam (October 25-26) before going on display at Kingpins New York (November 29-30).
