Santoni uses Tencel fibre for new project

25/04/2017
Italian knitting machine manufacturer Santoni has created a denim double-face quilted jacket using its Mec-Mor CMP double jersey circular knitting machine and Lenzing’s Tencel fibre.

The reversible jacket provides added comfort due to its seamless characteristics. The machine makes it possible to knit various patterns and logos into the faces of the jacket. The use of embedded indigo Tencel fibre gives the material better elasticity and flexibility.

The multi-layered seamless knitted fabric consists of three layers of different yarns. The quilting effect is achieved by specific stitches that hold the two layers of fabric together.

Santoni explained that extra decorative patterns can be added to the surface and it is also possible to insert separate reinforced points.

Santoni and Lenzing have previously collaborated on a one-piece denim garment, which was designed in response to the fast-changing world of fashion.
