Record half-year results for Lenzing

24/08/2017
Austrian fibre manufacturer Lenzing achieved revenue of €1.15 billion during the first half of 2017, an 11% increase compared to the first half of last year.

This represented the company’s best ever half-year results.

Among the reasons it gave for this strong performance were good capacity utilisation, higher selling prices and an attractive product mix.

In its outlook for the rest of the year, Lenzing said it expects the global wood-based cellulose fibre segment to outpace the overall fibre market. It said demand for cellulose fibres was very good in the first half of 2017 and added that these is unlikely to be “any notable new production capacity” in this market during the rest of the year.
