Huntsman offers solution for colour-fast technical textiles

Huntsman Textile Effects has unveiled a new range of reactive inks which it claims offer good light- and weather-fastness for digital printing of polyester fibres.

Its Teratop XKS HL inks are designed to help mills produce technical textiles with high colour-fastness performance for the automotive, outdoor furnishings and home textiles industries. 

Huntsman has explained that materials used in these industries need to be resistant to fading, yellowing and other colour change when exposed to light and high temperature. It added that current digital ink technologies do not meet the demands of the industry in this regard. 

Using these new inks, Huntsman said mills can achieve deep black shades and a wide spectrum of colours. 

It added that the inks can also help mills to improve their competitiveness as they offer excellent reliability, runnability and reproducibility. This allows mills to benefit from faster production, minimal ink consumption, less wastage and reduced equipment maintenance.
