Fall in Italian textile machinery orders in Q2

07/08/2018
Italian textile machinery manufacturers saw their orders fall 15% year on year in the second quarter of 2018 (April-June), according to data compiled by the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT).

Domestic orders fell 13%, while orders from foreign markets were 14% lower.

“After two years of significant investments, textile manufacturers are now tightening up,” said Alessandro Zucchi, ACIMIT president. “However, growth margins still exist in a variety of countries.”

She added that fiscal incentives for Italian companies to invest in advanced manufacturing technology helped re-invigorate the domestic market.
