ACIMIT completes ‘very positive’ trade mission to Thailand

The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) has led a small delegation of its members on a trade mission to Thailand, during which they met with representatives of local trade associations and visited textile companies and universities that run textile courses.

The companies that took part were: Brazzoli, Ferraro, Laip, Ms Printing Solutions, Sicam and Stalam.

Explaining the reasons for coordinating this trade mission, ACIMIT president Alessandro Zucchi said: “We had a dual goal: to get to know the local textile manufacturing sector’s level of technology and its current needs; and to assess possible forms of collaboration and partnerships between Italy’s textile machinery industry and entities within the country [Thailand] providing specific textile training.”

He added that there is a “deep-rooted” transformation taking place in the Thai textile sector, which will naturally lead to a demand for new machinery.

He described the mission as “very positive”, highlighting the visits to the Thailand Textile Institute and to the Rajamangala University of Technology in Bangkok as especially interesting.
