ACIMIT has high hopes for the Russian market

The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) will lead a delegation of its members to the Techtextile Russia exhibition, which will take place from March 19-22 in Moscow.

The organisation will also have its own stand at the show, offering visitors information about the latest Italian textile technology.

Commenting on the event, Alessandro Zucchi, ACIMIT president, said: “The Russian market for textile machinery is developing rapidly and the local textile industry is investing in new machinery, in part due to the willingness of the competent authorities to replace imports of textile products with local production.” 

In 2017, the last full year for which figures are available, Italy’s textile machinery exports to Russia were valued at €20 million, down slightly on the previous year. However, in the first ten months of 2018, the value of exports had already reached €27 million, up 84% compared to the same period of the previous year.
