Applied DNA makes further inroads into the Asian market

Applied DNA Sciences, a provider of DNA-based product authentication solutions, has announced partnerships with two Taiwan-based companies as it seeks to expand the reach of its CertainT authenticity platform.

It has signed non-binding memorandums of understanding (MOU) with textiles and clothing manufacturer Tex-Ray and with chemical distributor Sun Chemical Supply. Both are expected to be followed by a definitive agreement.

Under the terms of the MOU, Tex-Ray and Applied DNA will establish a centre of excellence in Taiwan. This will allow the integration of the CertainT platform into new product development of yarns, finishes and fabrics. The facility will also boost Applied DNA’s capabilities in marketing, sales and support for its global customers. 

With regards to the agreement with Sun Chemical Supply, it will see this company serve as a distributor of the CertainT platform in Asia. Applied DNA will look to take advantage of its new partner’s industry knowledge, infrastructure and client base to expand its reach in the region.
