Isbjörn chooses nylon over polyester for outer garments

22/02/2019
Outdoor children’s clothing brand Isbjörn of Sweden has said it plans to use only recycled nylon in its outer garments by 2021. It explained that it has chosen nylon over polyester due to its increased durability, which means a longer lifecycle for the garment.

The brand’s founders, Maria Frykman Forsberg and Camilla Schmidt, have long demonstrated their commitment to making products that protect the planet children live and play on.  It refers to this commitment as its ‘Green Promise’.

As part of Isbjörn new brand identity, which it unveiled in January, it is introducing the new ‘Green @Heart’ symbol, which will appear on hang tags, merchandise and marketing materials from autumn-winter 2019/20. It represents its promise ‘Green Promise’ to equip future generations of outdoor adventurers, while caring for the planet.

Ms Forsberg said: “We want our durable clothing and accessories to be passed down to many generations of children, so they can enjoy everything nature has to offer while remaining warm, dry and safe. This way we can ensure minimal consumption to help to save the limited resources we have on this planet.”
