Swim goggles find new home in hospitals

Swimwear brand Speedo and eyewear specialist Endura are among the Pentland Brands’ companies to have donated goods to help during the covid-19 pandemic. 

Speedo has donated 2,000 goggles to US hospital partners, via the Swim Across America organisation, and 2,500 to charities supporting UK frontline workers. 

Its Fastskin supplier in Portugal is manufacturing masks and it has waived its exclusivity conditions for its goggle supplier in China, so it can manufacture PPE visors and protective goggles. Its  manufacturer in Vietnam is also manufacturing masks.

Endura has been prototyping reusable medical grade gowns for NHS workers using Goretex fabric donated by Berghaus. It has also given 30,000 masks and 1,400 pieces of Endura protective eyewear have been donated to UK GP surgeries and health centres. 

Outdoor brand Berghaus has offered all UK key workers a 50% discount all products online and ellesse is running a charity T shirt design competition, with all proceeds to the World Health Organisation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Fund.? 

SeaVees has donated 500 pairs of shoes to healthcare workers and is offering care packages to nominated frontline workers in California.?
