The North Face to drop red- and gold-themed CNY capsule
Chinese New Year, which falls on February 12, 2021, is traditionally celebrated with colours of red and gold, which have long symbolised good fortune in Chinese culture.
Knowing this, the North Face will release a red- and gold-themed Chinese New Year capsule collection of clothing and accessories (with some white and black pieces) on January 7, in time for the worldwide festivities.
For the Chinese, February 12 will usher in the year of the ox, so representations of the animal feature prominently in many of the designs, accompanied by artistic renditions of blossoms, often seen in traditional Chinese ink and brush paintings.
The 1994 mountain light jacket, both short- and long-sleeve t-shirts and hoodies have all been included in the collection, along with a salty dog beanie and convertible shoulder bag.
