China plans vast sportswear-making complex
As part of China’s Belt and Road infrastructure development strategy, a giant industrial park that will house 10 textile and garment facilities has been planned in Guiping, located in the southeast of Guangxi.

Officials there have said the area could become China’s biggest producer of sportswear, and the overall development could have an annual output value of about 3.36 billion yuan (£370 million).

A festival – the Guiping China International Cultural Tourism and Casual Sportswear Festival (pictured) – was organised to mark the start of the development.
