Anta invests $92 million in Sichuan production base
Fujian-headquartered sports group Anta has invested ¥600 million RMB (around $92 million USD) in a production base in Anyue county, Sichuan province, local media have reported.
The base will be home to factories, warehouses and worker dormitories, among other related buildings, within a total planned land area of roughly 185, 000 square-metres.
It is expected that the first phase of construction will be completed by October 2022 and Chinese media have estimated that the base will eventually employ between 3,000 and 5,000 people.
An update on Anta Group’s 2020 financial performance published in early January suggested that revenues for Anta-owned Fila were likely to have achieved double-digit growth in 2020 (Fila’s revenues for 2019 were around $2.25 billion USD).
The group also announced that its Amer Sports business had agreed to sell Precor fitness equipment assets for a total cash consideration of roughly $420 million USD in late December 2020.
