Performance Days’ May fair goes digital
Fabric fair Performance Days has cancelled its upcoming physical Munich session, which was due to run from May 19-20, owing to the ongoing effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Instead, the fair will take place as a digital event showcasing textile innovations for spring-summer 2023 over five days from May 17-21 in collaboration with Functional Fabric Fair (Performance Days’ US counterpart), as part of the recently launched Performance Days Loop online sourcing platform.
The trade fair promises an interactive experience via an “extensive”, livestreamed digital supporting programme, featuring expert talks, lectures and discussions, plus live question and answer sessions. Founder and general manager of Performance Days, Marco Weichert, promised “intensive” networking opportunities in a press release.
Performance Forum, where curated trends and innovations are discovered, has also migrated over to the Loop platform. It is hoped that recently incorporated three-dimensional technology such as images, video animations and downloadable M3U (or MP3 URL) files will help to make the forum’s digital presentations as intuitive as possible in terms of the haptics, design and structure of the new performance fabrics exhibited.
A hybrid winter edition of Performance Days Munich is also scheduled to take place between December 1-2.
Registration for the May fair is now open.
