No ‘vague claims’: Recto Verso launches RV-Elite compression clothing
Deinze-headquartered Belgian sportswear brand Recto Verso recently unveiled RV-Elite Compression, a research-led, patented compression line based on five years of experimentation at Ghent University’s sport science laboratory.
So as not to make “vague claims”, the team’s scientific research primarily focused on runners’ performance and recovery. Five different compression conditions were tested, homing in on both subjective and physiological parameters, the brand said.
Research published by RV-Elite shows that its compression technology “clearly” enhanced athletes’ performance (increasing running economy by 5% on average, outmatching the brand’s nearest competitor by 3.5%) and decreased their rate of perceived exertion (reducing creatine kinase by 20% after 24 and 48 hours, outperforming the closest competitor by 7%).
Tests were conducted at running speeds of 10 kilometres per hour and 12 kilometres per hour.
Products available thus far include shorts and leggings for both men and women.
