Jordan Brand tapped for new PSG home kit
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) football club recently revealed its new home kit for the 2021-2022 season, which notably now bears the Jordan Brand’s Jumpman logo for the first time.
Owned and produced by Nike, Jordan Brand is currently in the fourth year of its partnership with the French team. Previously, the logo (the silhouette of former NBA player Michael Jordan) was displayed on PSG’s third and fourth kits.
The new home kit reinterprets the club’s classic navy blue, red and white colour scheme with a solid blue take on the jersey’s typically striped body. Red and white elements on the collar and sleeves preserves the PSG “DNA”, Nike said.
Previous Chicago Bulls basketball uniforms from Michael Jordan’s time playing the game significantly influenced the kit’s design, the US company added, bringing classic basketball iconography to the pitch in the form of diamond side panels and the red piping along the collar and sleeves, as Nike described it.
Limited-edition Air Jordan VII and Jordan MA2 shoes also feature in the launch collection, included as part of a wider capsule along with t-shirts, shorts, jackets and hats for men, women and children.
