Sorona adds comfort and stretch to linen
The partners behind a fabric collection that blends linen and Sorona fibres say it can create garments with exceptional stretch and recovery, luxurious drape and a smooth, soft hand feel.
Sorona, from materials group DuPont, is made from 37% renewable plant-based ingredients. It offers inherent stain resistance without the need for topical treatments, said DuPont.
India-based linen specialist JayaShree Textiles made the fabric, sourcing the flax from Belgium and France.
Renee Henze, marketing and commercial development director at DuPont Biomaterials, said: "Our collaboration with JayaShree Textiles is a testimony to the type of effort that will allow more apparel brands the opportunity to address tomorrow's challenges through renewably sourced fibre materials without compromising performance and value.”
