Andar launches premium line in South Korea
South Korean athletic leisure brand Andar recently launched a premium line in its home country, which local media described as placing a greater emphasis on functional materials and fashion-forward design.

The first products include a two-piece tracksuit set, consisting of a three-layer hardshell zip-up jacket and matching jogging bottoms, both of which are available for purchase as two separate articles in two colourways.

An Andar spokesperson said that “sustainable, premium fabrics” such as Lenzing’s Tencel modal fibres made with micro technology (cellulosic wood-based fibres engineered to achieve extra fine and light properties) were foundational to the new line, which has been designed to take the wearer from the new year through to spring.

Although created for a soft hand-feel, the jacket’s three layers can reportedly also block snow, rain and wind and boasts “excellent” waterproof and windproof properties. The company stated that both articles would be suitable for outdoor activities such as mountaineering, golf and camping, as well as indoor exercise.

While the women’s jacket has been designed with length in mind, so as to cover the hips, the men’s version has been made with a drop shoulder effect “to make the shoulders appear wider and create a comfortable, natural look”.
