Staff shuffles will boost Nilit’s quest for bio-based nylon

Nylon 6.6 maker Nilit has announced Sagee Aran will lead product development and commercialisation and Michelle Lea has joined the company to head marketing.

Ilan Melamed, general manager of Nilit, said: “With this new management structure, Nilit will more rapidly develop and implement sustainable premium nylon innovations that appeal to today’s growing segment of conscious apparel consumers.”

The Israeli company recently launched Sensil BioCare, engineered to decompose quickly in the anaerobic conditions in water and landfills, and Sensil WaterCare, which eliminates the water and pollution risk associated with traditional dyeing wet processing, according to the company.

It is also working on a nylon that integrates renewable non-fossil biomaterials made from post-consumer waste and is working with several brands to introduce the development.
