NILIT featured on Fox for its eco-friendly nylon

Israeli nylon manufacturer NILIT has been gaining attention for its initiatives to improve its manufacturing footprint and introduce responsible products, with a recent appearance on the show “Earth with John Holden” as well as recognition from the country’s Ministry of Environmental Protection.

In the "Today's Eco-Friendly Apparel", the Earth team visited NILIT facilities in Israel and the USA to highlight the company’s Nylon 6.6 operations and products.

"I believe that nylon is the most sustainable synthetic fibre that exists today," said general manager Ilan Melamed during the episode, which aired on September 6th on Fox Business Network.

NILIT has said its R&D efforts are focused on adding environmentally-responsible premium Nylon products for the Sensil family of sustainable yarns and fabrics. Products expected to launch soon will “address resource conservation, pollution elimination, biodegradability and additional recycled inputs”.

According to the company, a report by the Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection recently ranked NILIT first in a list of the top ten companies in Israel who reduced air pollution emissions in 2019 compared to previous measurements. Its conversion from fuel oil to natural gas was said to generate an 86% emission reduction.
