Woolmark releases free sustainability course

The Woolmark Company, a subsidiary of non-profit Australian Wool Innovation, recently launched Sustainability and Wool, the first free-to-access online sustainability education course on its digital Learning Centre platform.

Included in the course are modules on circular design, regenerative agriculture and reduced-impact manufacturing processes regarding the wool supply chain, all of which combine to present the creators' perspectives on sustainability’s challenges and opportunities when it comes to textiles and fashion.

It has been put together in partnership with performance sports and outerwear design specialist Charles Ross, agricultural systems scientist Dr Stephen Wiedemann, regenerative farmer and scientist Dr Charles Massy, writer Clare Press, tech entrepreneur Leanne Kemp and Livia Firth, co-founder and creative director of sustainability consultancy Eco-Age.

“This course explores the key issues and questions relating to sustainable development, legislation, collaborative global goals and ways to measure and manage our impacts on people and planet,” the latter said.

Upon completion, leaners will receive a digital certificate via the Credly platform.
