HD Wool supplies ISPO winner's ‘from farm to Finisterre’ ID

The design, engineered for both layering and as an outerwear piece, previously won a 2021 ISPO gold award in the organisation’s insulated outdoor apparel category.
Its circular credentials stem from its PrimaLoft Bio compostable shell, renewable (and traceable) insulation by HD Wool and completely biodegradable fastenings. The Biosmock’s hangtag will feature a QR code specific to the HD Wool Apparel Insulation material used, providing an authentic link to one of the four local English farms which supplied each article’s wool.
Finisterre’s lead designer, A. Todd, commented: “Wool’s natural heat retention and breathability make it an excellent insulator, as well as being renewable. Through HD Wool’s Woolkeepers initiative, consumers are able to trace the jacket’s insulation - providing full traceability and accreditation from farm to Finisterre.”
Managing director of HD Wool Apparel Insulation, Simon Whitmarsh-Knight, added that his team was “incredibly excited” for the launch of the Biosmock. “We are delighted to link our Woolkeepers community to end consumers,” he said. “As with HD Wool, Finisterre is incredibly passionate about making a positive impact on the environment and pushing boundaries to make the best products it can.
“Collaborating with the Finisterre team on the Biosmock project has been a true privilege.”
