Asics takes on mosquitos with new shoe

Strikingly, the footwear features popper studs which allow for the affixing of a mosquito net over the upper and ankles, secured with a drawcord fastening. The black, yellow-soled shoes also have a synthetic upper to which a layer of Gore-Tex has been applied for waterproofing, whereas Asics’ Gel midsole technology increases shock absorption.
Available for pre-order priced at roughly $230 (¥31,900), the trainers are expected to be delivered late October.
