Mizuno takes Enerzy Core to the streets
Japanese sports brand Mizuno is accepting domestic pre-orders for Mizuno Enerzy Ultra Light, its first everyday athletic shoe to incorporate Enerzy Core technology.
Targeted at those in their thirties and forties, specifically, the footwear has been designed to support lower-impact activities such as walking to and from work, school or the gym.
Its increased rebound (up 15%) and improved softness (up 17%) when compared to Mizuno’s U4ic midsole ensures a “bouncy” walk over conditions ranging from asphalt to trails, the company said.
Available in three colourways, the pared-back style takes inspiration from the Mizuno Enerzy, but features a thinner sole and weighs in at only 180 grams. Made in Vietnam from synthetic fibres, the elasticated knit upper is based on the brand’s Wave Neo running technology. A matching, lightweight carry bag is intended to help the shoes mesh with customers’ daily life as far as possible.
Mizuno told local media that the model was created in-house by a cross-functional project team who sought to “improve competitive performance” during everyday activities.
From now until the end of August, the brand’s Tokyo and Osaka Chayamachi stores are offering try-on sessions to help shoppers determine their best fit.
Pre-orders are expected to be fulfilled by the end of February 2023.
