Reebok’s ‘revolutionary’ tech further refines Nano
A new, more “dialled in”, version of activewear brand Reebok’s Nano training shoe, the Nano X3, will launch globally in a range of unisex sizes on February 10.
This latest iteration of the model, first released in a limited drop of 1,000 pairs in November 2011, is evidence of how the Nano continues to evolve alongside the training needs of athletes and fitness enthusiasts, according to the company’s senior product manager, Tal Short.
The design once again uses Reebok’s lightweight, yet durable, Flexweave knit technology for the upper, which this time incorporates at least 30% recycled materials.
Increased traction is provided by a Ropepro+ outsole and a reengineered tread pattern, the brand said, while the midsole’s “revolutionary” Lift and Run (LAR) chassis system can support the wearer “across all training demands”.
A responsive, dome-shaped thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) heel component, encased by Floatride Energy foam, adapts under various weights to deliver extra stability when lifting and offers improved cushioning when running, jumping and more. A separate TPU plate, joined to the dome, also provides greater lateral and torsional support and forefront propulsion than previous versions of the shoe, Reebok described.
Prices start at $140 and a limited curation is already available for purchase by Reebok Unlocked members.
The brand has been owned by US-based parent company Authentic Brands Group since early last year.
