Local media reported that the brand management company had sought an in-country presence, better placed to understand domestic market dynamics, in a bid to strengthen its global competitiveness. In addition to Reebok, ABG’s portfolio currently encompasses over 60 companies, including brands Eddie Bauer, Spyder and Juicy Couture, manufacturer Prince Sports, Sports Illustrated magazine and various rights to the estates of athletic personalities including Muhammad Ali, Shaquille O’Neil and Greg Norman.
The group’s South Korean branch will focus on forging mid-to-long-term licensing agreements and intellectual property proposals. It will also nurture relationships with existing partners like LF Corp, which acquired the rights to Reebok earlier this year, as well as distributor Shinsegae International and entertainment company CJ E&M.
Before joining Reebok in 2019, Ms Park held senior positions with Lacoste and Levi Strauss & Co.
