Anta publishes supplier sustainability management handbook
Chinese sports group Anta has now published the supplier sustainability management handbook it referenced in its annual environmental, social and governance report for the year ended December 31, 2022, online.
Over nearly 100 pages in total, the document, viewable in English here, presents supply partners with a series of guidelines to ensure a basic level of compliance with Anta Sports’ supplier code of content.
It takes suppliers through the group’s rules when it comes to the areas of labour rights, health and safety and environmental responsibility, before dedicating space to establishing how to implement an internal sustainability management system that takes all three into account.
This includes minimum requirements for the establishment of a sustainability committee and the formulation of written sustainability policies and plans, in addition to direction on what risk assessments, non-conformance procedures, file management processes and all other internal evaluations and communications connected with the system should cover. It also sets out seven areas of zero tolerance.
Group co-chief executive and chairman of Anta’s sustainability committee, Lai Shixian, described the supplier code of conduct as a cornerstone concept. “Anta Sports will support its suppliers in working towards the goal of sustainability development,” he said, “building a better future together”.
