Thermore announces Ecodown Fibers Ocean

Milan-based materials developer Thermore, a specialist in thermal insulation for outerwear, has launched its first-ever insulation made from ocean-bound polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles exclusively.

The new 100% ocean-bound PET insulation, called Ecodown Fibers Ocean, has been certified as such by social enterprise OceanCycle.

Manufactured in Hong Kong, the product is “extremely soft and highly resistant to clumping, just like all Ecodown fibres”, its developer said.

Thermore added separately that its best-selling Thermore Classic insulation now contains 75% recycled fibre content.
