Luxury group invests in Db
Db, a luggage and backpack brand based in Oslo, has announced that LVMH Luxury Ventures (LLV) Fund has made a minority investment in the company. It was founded by Truls Brataas, an entrepreneur, and Jon Olsson, a free-skier, in 2012.

This is LLV’s second investment in a promising Scandinavian brand, as it also acquired a minority stake in Our Legacy, based in Sweden, last month.

Db has announced that it will use the funds to accelerate its global development, specifically in the US and Asia. The company also intends to expand its product range, with plans to launch an aluminium luggage line in 2026 and a range made for golfers. In January, a new lighter-weight range, which appears to be made in a Dyneema-type fabric, is being teased (pictured). The B-Corp brand makes its products from recycled PET.

“Receiving backing from LLV is a huge milestone for us. While Db will stay authentic to its core communities in snow, surf and skate, LLV’s global perspective, credibility and strategic knowledge makes this a perfect fit for our vision of what the brand can become,” commented Db CEO Richard Collier.
