Inditex brand puts Q-Cycle into compression garments

Sports and leisure apparel brand Oysho is to use recycled polyamide yarn in a collection of compression garments.

The brand, which is part of the Inditex group, will use Q-Cycle yarn, developed as the result of a tie-up between chemicals group BASF and fibre producer Fulgar.

This partnership will give new life to tyres that have reached the end of their lifecycle, offering an alternative to virgin fossil-based materials. It will use the mass balance method to allow the tracking of recycled tyres used in the production of the yarn, even when mixed with other raw materials during the process.

Fulgar presents Q-Cycle as combining the functional and aesthetic benefits of lightness, strength and durability “in a more sustainable version”. It also offers the usual properties of polyamide, including breathability and moisture management performance.
