Sympatex features fibre-to-fibre recycled laminate

German membrane maker Sympatex will be exhibiting at Performance Days this week, presenting a new range of ‘circular’ laminates as part of its commitment to “closing the textile loop”.

The highlight product of the season is Kyoto F2F, a three-layer laminate whose fabrics are composed of chemically recycled textile-2-textile yarns made from pre- and post-consumer waste.

 “With its structured, stretchy ripstop surface and soft jersey backing, it delivers a modern yet functional and innovative three-layer material exhibiting substantial sustainability properties,” stated Jessica Dedora, apparel product management for Sympatex.

Kyoto F2F key sustainability features:
- Carbon footprint: 11.9 kg CO2e/kg (HIGG MSI score: 11.5)
- Properties: waterproof (20,000 mm), breathable (14 Ret), windproof
- Composition: 100% recycled PES
- Weight: 110 g per square metre
- Fluorocarbon-free water repellent finish
