Anta introduces PFAS-free waterproof-breathable membrane
01/09/2025
Aerovent Zero is made from a moisture permeable bio-based polymer with a special finish to boost breathability. A PFAS-free durable water-repellent finish is applied, and even the bonding tapes adhesive is said to be without PFAS. In tests, the laminate has been found to achieve a water resistance of 18,000 mm H2O (hydrostatic head) and a moisture vapour transmission rate (MVTR) of 7,000 g/m²/24h.
The development of this new performance textile goes back to 2017, when Anta first began investigating high-performance waterproof-breathable fabrics. The brand partnered with Donghua University’s Innovation Research Institute in 2021 and a first generation Aerovent membrane was presented in 2023. This was followed by a short production run of jackets, and an official commercial launch this September.
Anta’s waterproof jacket with Aerovent Zero will be available internationally and the company expects to produce and sell 500,000 units by 2026.
