Nature Coatings unveils customisable bio-based black pigments

Nature Coatings, a biochemical company that turns wood waste into black pigments, has launched BioBlack, a platform that allows for application-specific customisation, which the company said allows for a more seamless integration into existing products.

Manufacturers and brands can now request black pigments and dispersions based on specific particle size, pigment loading, carrier, compatibility, compliance and costs.

Jane Palmer, CEO of Nature Coatings, said: “Versatility has always been a strength of BioBlack over other bio-based solutions, with BioBlack Blends we are fully unleashing that potential. We can now integrate BioBlack into just about any application, no matter how specific.”

Founded in 2017, the company is backed by investors including Regeneration.VC, Fashion for Good, The 22 Fund and Leonardo DiCaprio and has been used by brands including Levi’s, the Kering Group and Jack&Jones.
