Arena patents ‘tense-elastic’ fabric for next-generation suits
Swimwear brand Arena has released three products for competitive swimming: the Powerskin Veloce race suit, the Hyperflow training line and Air Sonic goggles.
The race suit is powered by Hyperforce technology, which Arena describes as the world’s first tense-elastic fabric, engineered for compression, lightness and flexibility.
Unlike its predecessor Powerskin Primo, which offers maximum compression and is ideal for athletes seeking the most intense muscle support, Powerskin Veloce features a construction that is 50% lighter. TPU yarns are naturally hydrophobic and absorb far less water than standard materials.
World record holder Summer McIntosh said: “It's as comfortable as the most flexible suits, but the compression is great too. The best of both worlds for comfort and support.”
The Hyperflow training suits are built for durability and comfort. Made with Xlance elastomeric fibre and recycled polyester, the suits were tested for six months in six countries.
