Ortovox backpack incorporates safety device for missing mountaineers

German’s Ortovox has incorporated search-and-rescue technology into its latest backpack, using a summer version of the Recco SAR1 avalanche system.

The system searches over a wide area and assists rapid location in the event of an accident.

The collection combines back sections made of moisture-regulating Swisswool for comfort and climate control.
