Patagonia scoops wetsuit accolade EuroSIMA’s Surf Summit
Patagonia’s yulex-based wetsuit has been named among the top three innovations at the EuroSIMA Surf Industry Awards held in Seignosse, France.
Biarritz-based Lastage’s novel system to close boardshorts was also honoured, and Spain-based Wavegarden scooped Innovation of the Year for its technology to create artificial waves
This enabled the construction of a first artificial wave pool in Wales, while a second is under way in Texas. “Waves have always been our passion, and now we can share them with anyone, anywhere,” said its designers, Josema and Fernando Odriozola.
Alongside conferences, EuroSIMA’s Surf Summit annual conference hosted the Surfing Lounge, an exhibit of the most creative products from about 50 brands.
“The Surfing Lounge showcases the talent, creativity and expertise in our industry and proves that our brands are constantly innovating. It is a real added value and we are proud to be able to convey our passion and values through such innovative products” said Frédéric Basse, EuroSIMA president.
