Hyosung to increase spandex production in Turkey

The expansion, which will see the annual output at the facility increase from 5,000 tonnes to 25,000 tonnes by the end of the first half of 2017, is part of a plan to raise its share of the European and Middle Eastern markets.
“To maintain the No.1 position in the global market, we have to pre-emptively respond to exploding demands for spandex from Europe and the Middle East,” said Cho Hyun-Joon, president of Hyosung.
Construction is also underway of a new factory in Quzhou China, which will have an annual capacity of 16,000 tonnes. The two developments will raise Hyosung’s annual spandex output to 221,000 tonnes.
