Creora unveils vision for activewear in 2018

05/01/2017
Spandex label Creora, owned by elastane producer Hyosung, has revealed the activewear fabric trends that it expects to be prominent in 2018.

It has divided the trends into four segments called Nourish it!, Work it!, Own it!, and Live it!

Nourish it! features natural touch fabrics, which are enhanced by the incorporation of creora spandex. The soft fabrics are quick-drying and offer good moisture management. Hyosung predicts that contrasting yarns will feature prominently in this topic, with prints also “playing a key role”.

The fabrics in Work it! are expected to be well-suited to high intensity impact activities, with moisture management and compression two important qualities. It will see vibrant colours and varied textures, with Hyosung adding that it predicts a “stronger feminine style”.

Hyosung says Own it! will offer the “premium elements of activewear” for intense workouts. It is tough, robust and protective, with the added benefits of being comfortable and lightweight. Creora Power Fit fabrics feature in this segment, which “aims to meet the demands of active people”. Heat bonding will replace traditional cut and sew techniques to eliminate uncomfortable seams.

The final category, Live it!, combines fashion and functionality. It is targeted at the growing athleisure market. For summer, there will be quick dry and cool touch fabrics, while for the winter thermal fabrics will be popular. This segment also includes denim, both knitted and woven. Among the offerings are bi-stretch denim knits and shaping jog jeans.
