Hyosung launching odour neutralising elastane

Elastane producer Hyosung will launch a new odour neutralising elastane from its Creora label at Mode-City Interfiliere in Lyon from July 9 to 11. The Creora Fresh anti-microbial fibre is an attempt to move away from the use of next-to-skin antimicrobial chemicals in functional apparel.

“Creora Fresh has been demonstrated with nylon and polyester fibres to last longer than traditional antimicrobial finishes” said Hyosung President Yong Seup Kim.

“This technology will also enhance sportswear garment and fabric versatility by giving consumers added confidence,” he added.

“We have a number of brands interested as they want to move away from antimicrobial chemicals next to the skin,” added Ria Stern, Hyosung global marketing director for textiles.
