Fibre producer Hyosung is set to invest in a new manufacturing facility in the Indian state of Maharashtra, according to local media reports.

Quoting a local government official, the reports said the South Korean company will set up a production plant in the Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC), which is currently under development.

The unnamed official added that work on the project will begin in April, with production expected to start in May 2019. It will reportedly generate 1,000 jobs during the initial phase.

The chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadvanis, met with Hyosung president, H S Cho, during a visit to South Korea in September 2017.
