14/10/2016
According to reports in the UK media, the deal is worth £60 million per season for the next 15 years. The club recently agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to end its sponsorship with rival manufacturer adidas early.
Nike will provide Chelsea’s kit from the start of the 2017/18 Premier League season. It will produce playing strips for the first team, academy and ladies teams, as well as replica kits and apparel for supporters.
Marina Granovskaia, a director at the club, described the deal as “incredibly exciting and important”. She added that Nike would help support Chelsea’s attempts to grow in new markets.
“We are excited to help grow the club’s global reach, serving players and supporters with Nike innovation and design,” said Trevor Edwards, president of the Nike brand.
