Unifi partner to produce Repreve in Vietnam

Repreve is made from recycled materials, including post-consumer use recycled bottles. Unifi describes Repreve as its flagship product.
Century Synthetic will also sell and distribute Asian-made Repreve to textile manufacturers in Vietnam. It will also export the product to China for Unifi’s Suzhou-based subsidiary to distribute to customers there.
“This collaboration will open distribution channels for Repreve in a key apparel-producing region, helping to fulfil increasing demand and shorten lead times to the company’s customer base,” Unifi said on making the announcement. Company president, Tom Caudle added that Unifi was already distributing Repreve in a number of other important textile manufacturing countries, including Taiwan, Sri Lanka and Turkey. He said the growth of the industry in Vietnam, which he said was on course for $30 billion in textile exports in 2016, was something Unifi could not ignore.
