Vaude: Expulsion of refugees would be major loss

Germany-based outdoor company Vaude has added to its trophy haul by being awarded again for its work with refugees, as part of the Demography Excellence Award 2017.

Vaude personnel manager Miriam Schilling accepted the award at the Hotel InterContinental in Berlin, at a ceremony organised by the Federal Association of German Business Consultants.

The family-owned company has provided nine refugees with permanent positions and provides a free German language course.

Ms Schilling said: “We’re pleased to have our commitment recognised and appreciated, especially against the backdrop that we are currently facing: fighting against the expulsion of our refugees. It would be a major loss for us, both professionally and on a personal level.”
