During the event, Cotton USA demonstrated design and fashion trends related to cotton innovation and cotton apparel. It also showcased the natural properties of cotton and emphasised its sustainability credentials.
Students from Donghua University had the opportunity to present their designs using cotton, which focused on its adaptability and unique properties.
A judging panel selected the top eight students before naming Jingtian Wang as the student with the most promising design. His prize is a week of training at Garmon’s research and design studio in Italy.
“This wonderful event marks once again the high level of attention and commitment that Garmon expresses promoting and all-round sustainable approach,” said Donald Mulazzani, Garmon’s marketing and business development director.
Speaking about Jingtian Wang’s prize, he added: “Awarding a young Chinese designer that has been able to interpret this theme with a fresh and new perspective, represents a way to promote and stimulate talent with a global vision in mind, expanding our horizons outside Europe”.
