Garmon takes new denim bleaching solution to Amsterdam

Italian denim chemicals maker Garmon used the recent Kingpins exhibition in Amsterdam (April 10-11) to unveil a new combination of chemicals that it has said allows for a safer and more sustainable bleaching process. 

It brings together one of its existing products, Avol Oxy White, with a new development, Avol Lime. It refers to this combination as ‘white&green’.

Avol Oxy White was created as an alternative to potassium permanganate. This bleaching agent is safe to handle and requires no curing. It is free of manganese compounds and heavy metals. 

On the other hand, Avol Lime is a neutraliser, which Garmon has said can serve as an alternative to hydroxylamine and sodium metabisulfite, two of the products most commonly used to neutralise potassium permanganate. It provides garments with better contrasts and brighter discolorations, as well as being active at room temperature.
